running with the stars!

today we had the chance to talk with fox 25 and they got some great footage of our doggies running and playing in the backyard! the segment will be on the 9:00 news on fox tomorrow night (october 23) -- so tune in and look for cami and calvin! cami has her zebra collar on and calvin has is blue and brown striped collar on. hopefully they make it big time! :)

previously, i posted these pics of our foster dog. well, he is now our family member. :)

we decided to adopt calvin (formerly leland) today and we are so happy! he fits in so well at the house and with the other dogs & cat and we are so excited to have another grey in the family! they are such wonderful dogs. if you are ever looking for the perfect family pet, you should definitely look into rescuing a retired racer. they have such sweet, gentle dispositions and make excellent family members!

hot spiced cider

• 8 cups (2 qt. bottle) apple cider
• 4 cups (1 qt.) cranberry juice cocktail
• 4 whole cloves
• 3 cinnamon sticks
• peel of 1 small orange
• dark rum (optional)

bring everything (except rum) to a boil. drop the heat to low and simmer for 35 minutes. fish out the cloves, cinnamon sticks & orange peel before serving. if you want to make this an alcoholic cider, add 2 tbsp. dark rum to each mug before you fill it up with cider.
