the BEST party punch!
this is a perfect punch for any occasion and you can make it your own with whatever jello flavors you choose. the recipe makes a ton so you could easily half it. when i make it i have to do it in 2 batches anyway because i don't have a big enough pot to boil all the water. for an alcoholic version, add vodka when you serve it. i usually make a seperate batch for all the alcies out there. :)
trust me... this one is a keeper!
*party punch*
13 cups water
3 cups granulated sugar
3 small boxes fruit flavored jello (I used strawberry, raspberry & a tropical fruit mix)
1 12 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate
2 large cans pineapple juice (standard size)
2 liters ginger ale/sprite/fresca/7up/whatever
4 freezer tight ziplock bags
1 orange, sliced (optional)
Boil 13 cups water. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gelatin & sugar. *if you are breaking this up into 2 batches, make sure you seperate out 1/2 of the gelatin/sugar mixture so the next batch will be consistently flavored*
Pour the boiling water over the gelatin/sugar mixture & stir to combine. Mix in the lemonade concentrate and then pour in the pineapple juice. Ladle the mixture into ziplock bags… I used a total of 4 *double lined* bags. Put the bags in the freezer and let them freeze overnight. About an hour before serving time, pull out a couple of the bags and allow them to thaw a little. Separate the chunks by kneading the bag while its still closed, you should have a slushy consistency. Pour into punch bowl and cover with ginger ale, more or less to your liking. top with orange slices for looks.
